Thriving into Year Three

My goal at the start of year two was simple, surviving to see year three.  Thanks to a wide array of customers and their projects, we made it!! Year three goals are beginning to evolve, reflecting the outcomes of so many client interactions, skill-challenging projects and a hardening commitment to not just survive, but thrive.

Milestones

I’ve now designed, built and delivered over 100 pieces of live edge furniture and décor in the past two years, including dining tables, coffee and end table sets, entry tables, engraved house-warming gifts, fly tying stations and wine/charcuterie servers. As result of all of this activity, I have learned a tremendous amount and now have thousands of photos and videos combined.  What better way to share all of this than on a completely reimagined website!  You can still find me on the web at www.liveedgeexclusives.com and keep up with some of our day-to-day activities, successes and failures on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and, as of recently, TikTok.  Thankfully, my handles are the same for all of these platforms: @liveedgex.  Making this content helps me to laugh at myself as well as assist with the emotional separation process; each piece has a story that touches me in different ways so, yes, I have a bond with each one and saying good-bye is a process.

Year two consisted of a rapid ascension up the steep learning curve of running a new business and expansion of my skill sets.  I don’t expect the third year to be any different, but I have a much stronger foundation to thrive well into the future.  If I’ve learned anything, it’s that I’m good at building awesome pieces – and my customers, no matter their level of engagement, have a great experience!  I’ll let them tell you that though.

Review of the Quarter

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with our new island-turned-live-edge kitchen table! From start to finish, the experience with Andy was nothing short of amazing. He made every step of the process incredibly personal and collaborative—truly a one-of-a-kind experience. Every decision was made together, and when we hit a wall, Andy’s expertise and eye for design guided us with confidence. He didn’t just build us a table; he created a breathtaking, functional piece of art that has completely transformed our DR Horton, cookie-cutter home into a space that feels unique and deeply personal. This table is more than furniture—it’s a centerpiece, a conversation starter, and a daily reminder that custom craftsmanship and thoughtful design can elevate an entire space. Thank you, Andy, for bringing our vision to life with such care and creativity!”

Special Offer of the Quarter

I’m about to make my fifth coffee table set of the year, but I am also about to start my first two desks of the year. My desk design research has led down some interesting rabbit holes and I’ve come up with some really compelling design ideas that I would love the opportunity to build for someone. To help realize that opportunity and to offer a carrot for you to get the desk you deserve, I’m offering a 15% discount on any desk order placed between July 2, 2025 and Labor Day.
